Abstract Tile: Unit 1
The abstract tile is divided in half by a row of small dots flattened by a sculpting tool. There is a big spiral on the left side and two twists at the bottom on the tile. Underneath the two twists are circles that are all different sizes. On the top half there are two small coils side by side.
The vessel used pattern and repetition. There is also an element of symmetry. The spiral and twists create a pattern as well as balance the the bottom of the tile.
I first created a slab that would be my base. Next I added a combination of coils and circles to add the elements of design.
Overall, I am happy with this vessel and how it turned out. There are a few things I would have done differently, for example, cover more of the negative space, but I am pleased with the outcome.
